The almost 3,000m2 great oak high lamella floor in the Hall C.1.1.1 of the Stuttgart fair area was sealed by the Parquet Expert Company Maurer of Geislingen/Steige with IRSA Platinum 3010 2C Water Varnish, silky-mat

Of course, many expert companies of the Parquet and Floor Laying Craft would have liked to receive the order to sand and seal almost 3,000m2. Due to his experience and competence, Dieter Maurer was able to receive the popular order by Jo Carle Architects.

The Project „Renovation of Floor/Hall C.1.1.1 in the Stuttgart Fair“ was taken over by Jo Carle Architects in 2017.

The office can be distinguished as cooperative, flexible, supporting, as well as connecting partner of architects and builders. It is important for Jo Carle to pursue and implement draft ideas and concepts by expert knowledge in planning, punctual incorporation in the building operation and experience in the project execution. Jo Carle is responsible for the floor renovation of the Hall C.1.1.1. In the hall (space for over thousand people), which has retractable stage areas, great events, such as “Wetten, dass…” or presentations of Mercedes Benz have been performed. The oak high lamella floor has partially shown strong repair necessity – wood elements had to be exchanged. As enough seam is available, the wood floor can be sanded and sealed again.

Parkett Maurer is one of the oldest Parquet and Floor Laying Expert Companies around Geislingen/Steige. The company was founded in 1957. Dieter Maurer operates the former company of his parents in best craft tradition with his wife and combines quality awareness with a loving attention to the detail. The succession is assured as the son Markus is already parquet laying foreman and is pleased to help in the company of his parents.

Dieter Maurer will give his son a traditional company which is member of the „Innung Parkett- und Fußbodentechnik“ (Trade Guild of Parquet and Floor Technology) and is certified by the „Deutschen Gesellschaft für Qualifizierung und Bewertung mbH“ (German Society for Qualification and Assessment mbH). As a master business, the family cares for sustainable assurance of the quality of their craft. Therefore, they do a lot for further education.

Customer requirements are on the first place for the family Maurer and besides craft also offers the sales of parquet, oils, sealers, care and maintenance products with complete accessories for floor laying and renovation – down to the rental of machines.

This especially means that used materials can be repaired later.

After 10 years, the partially damaged floor in Hall C 1.1.1 needs extensive renovation, so that the newly sealed floor stays longer mat, despite the extreme stress.

The parquet laying foreman Dieter Maurer recommended to seal the surface with IRSA PLATINUM 3010 2C Parquet Water Varnish silky-mat/IRSA PLATINUM Iso-Hardener.

IRSA PLATINUM 3010 2C Parquet Water Varnish, silky-mat, is very suitable for parquet and wood floors, as well as stairs which are exposed to normal to very strong stress and which should keep a bright appearance. The product is tested regarding fire behavior in accordance with DIN 4102, part 1, building substance class B2 and gliding behavior in accordance with DIN V18032-2-2: 2001-04.

IRSA PLATINUM 3010 2C Parquet Water Varnish, silky-mat, has a very high stress, excellent and quick drying as the final hardness is already achieved after approximately 5 days (at +20°C, 55% rel. humidity). The product is easy to process, can be easily sanded, very good household chemical resistance; the product does not leave bothering going marks of gum soles and the closed varnish film is still water-resistant after longer exposure to water.

Professionally adjusted to the gloss range care and maintenance products are required for a long and sustainable compliance of the sealed surface

IRSA recommends IRSA Aqua Star for glossy or silky-mat surfaces. Use IRSA Aqua Star for mat surfaces which should remain longer mat and for surfaces which correspond to guidelines in accordance with DIN 18032, part 2 (gym hall floors with a specific sliding friction behaviour). The earliest use can be performed approximately 5 days after final sealing.
