IRSA cleaners and cleaning agents

Good to know: What you should consider when effectively cleaning impregnated/oiled or sealed floors!

Only (very) heavily soiled floors should be pre-cleaned (always use cleaning agents that are compatible with the care products), otherwise care products or combined care and cleaning agents can be used directly.

The following factors should be considered:

• Chemistry: alkaline substances "saponify" the dirt: walking marks, dust, abrasion of sole material, etc., are bound and can be removed in a soluble state
• Time: a longer exposure time of the cleaning substances improves their effect; make sure that no damage is caused by swelling
• Temperature: warm, do not use hot water for cleaning
• Mechanical processing: the IRSA single disc machines (small or professional) or alternatively IRSA Blitzboy with beige or green pads facilitate cleaning

Things to know about the cleaning methods:

• Dry cleaning: manually or with vacuum cleaner; when using dry cleaning - sanding pads with microfine substrates/fibres make sure that the parquet floor is not convex or concave
• Wet cleaning: the IRSA single disc machines or alternatively IRSA Blitzboy with beige or green pads increase the cleaning effect of IRSA products. Do not use microfibre cloths, which have an abrasive effect, when wiping with a damp cloth.
• Final building cleaning: is carried out immediately before moving into the apartment/building; after that initial care must always be carried out.
• Basic cleaning: necessary when heavy soiling or care layers have built up; if necessary, apply a test surface (the sealing film must not be destroyed). Remove the basic cleaning agent completely with clear water, before it is treated again.

Distinguishing features of care and cleaning products

In order to ensure the long-term preservation of the value and the optical effect of the parquet or wooden floor, a suitable care product is required which should and can meet chemical, mechanical or optical requirements. IRSA recommends the appropriate IRSA care and cleaning agent, which is coordinated with the sealing and impregnation. We do not assume any warranty for third-party products.

Basic cleaners are designed to dissolve stubborn dirt (e.g. old layers of care products) and those that cannot be removed by regular maintenance cleaning. The raw materials used must, e.g. because of the pH value, be adapted to alkali-sensitive coverings such as wood, as otherwise dark discolouration could result from the basic cleaning. Always remove IRSA Basic Cleaner G88 completely from the surface before treating it.

Cleaners are designed to remove dirt or other components that impair the appearance of a floor. The exclusive use of cleaning agents does not protect the surface. The cleaning process does not cause the formation of a film on the surface - regular maintenance cleaning should therefore be combined with protective care.

Very heavily used floors, which are regularly heavily soiled, should be pre-cleaned with a cleaning agent before they are maintained. Cleaning agents combined with care substances can be used without pre-cleaning for less soiled surfaces.

Care products protect surfaces from mechanical or chemical influences, improve the appearance of the flooring, extend the life of the corresponding surface protection and facilitate subsequent cleaning. The use of care products causes a film to form, which additionally protects the floor. Depending on the amount applied and the type of maintenance agent (depending on the binder used), a more or less strong gloss effect is created.

Combined cleaning and care products combine cleaning and care effects. Over time, a smaller film builds up than is the case with care products with higher solids content.

A maintenance oil is a special variant for the cleaning and maintenance of oiled wooden surfaces. With oiled floors, the wood pore is "filled" with maintenance oil, a very small maintenance film is applied which protects the surface from dirt and moisture.

For floors that are to be rewaxed, the degree of slip resistance can be adjusted by the type of wax raw materials added to the hard wax.The service life, appearance and value retention of sealed or oiled/waxed parquet, wood or bamboo flooring depends largely on regular and, above all, professional maintenance. As a rule, the floor should never be flooded during the cleaning or maintenance process; always treat the floor with a damp cloth.

Moist care and cleaning means that the floor must be completely dry after three to five minutes. Wring out the cloth very well; it must not drip.

In a moment: For the care and cleaning of sealed or oiled/waxed floors, care products or combined cleaning and care products should be used. The exclusive use of cleaning agents cannot adequately protect sealed or impregnated surfaces.

Maintenance cleaning: approx. 50-100ml in 10L of clean water, always wipe damp; also suitable for other resilient floor coverings such as CV, rubber and polyolefins

IRSA Spray Cleaner, ready to use for spraying on all surfaces: cleans mildly sealed surfaces of furniture, doors, table tops, panels, stairs and floors. The product can also be used to clean stone, laminate, vinyl, etc. vinyl etc. surfaces. The cleaning solution can be easily dosed and must be spread evenly over the surface in a moist, shiny state. For floors use IRSA Blitzboy and wipe. For care or to apply a protective film, use a care product adapted to the surface, e.g. IRSA Aqua Star for wooden surfaces.

 Aqua Cleaner 5000 indoor: Aqueous cleaner for sealed parquet, finished parquet and other floors. IRSA AQUA CLEANER 5000 is excellently suited for a pre-cleaning or quick intermediate cleaning of e.g. soiled, sealed parquet, finished parquet, wood, cork, PVC, linoleum, stone and rubber floors. Always carry out a test application in an inconspicuous place. IRSA Aqua Cleaner 5000 is coordinated with all IRSA care products. The properties: ˜ highly effective ˜ very good cleaning effect ˜ very fast drying 

IRSA AQUA CLEANER 5000 diluted with water depending on the degree of soil contamination

(50 - 100 ml, per 10 litres of water) or apply undiluted to the surface. Absorb the dissolved dirt with IRSA Wipe and if necessary wipe again afterwards so that the dirt is completely removed from the surface.  After-treatment/Care: Further care of the surface with the usual IRSA care products (e.g. IRSA Aqua Star or IRSA Aqua Star R9). Please follow the corresponding care instructions. Remove very heavy soiling with IRSA Basic Cleaner G88 (see technical data sheet).
